What am I grateful for today? Clean Water!
I'm also super grateful I discovered Charity Water. That organization is stellar! I decided to donate $10,000 because that is all it takes to provide an entire village with a well. A well makes it possible for women and young girls to do something other than haul water all day long. Not having to haul water all day means they can go to school. Girls going to school makes my heart sing. And hauling water is only half of it, the water they are hauling is contaminated. They drink dirty water and get sick. So I'm not only excited about helping girls get an education, I'm excited about saving lives!
Charity Water sent us a link to watch an 8 part video series on how our donations help bring clean water to the world (Charity Water 8 Part Video Series). We have been watching the 5 min clips each night for our family devotionals and they are so inspiring. I decided tonight that I want to give more. I am so enamored with this organization. I love being a part of something that is making a HUGE difference. I was able to pick the inscription that goes on my well in Malawi and I had 50 characters total. I went with "In Giving We Receive. Dig Deep"
I'm going to give $10k more next month to build another well for another village. And I'm going to keep giving enough to build wells everywhere until Charity Water accomplishes their mission. I will help bring clean water to all the world's inhabitants because I'm so grateful to have clean water and I want everyone else to enjoy this blessing too!
Finally, my kids and I decided tonight that we want to one day visit one of the wells we funded.
